Seems shady for them to have you agree on a price before they send you to finance. 17.7 isn’t horrible but we all know they can do better. I rejected two offers before I shook hands with my sales person. It’s pretty good if it it included tax and dealer fees though.

Gave me the same shit about “we aren’t sure if we could find one in black because they’re in high demand...” blah blah. I said, “find one or I’ll go somewhere else to get what I want”.

When I bought my BMW I made it clear through the entire process that I wasn’t going to go through with it if I didn’t get the 0% rate as advertised.

The HB Harley dealer does free tires for life of the bike as long as you have it, which is cool.
But ya, they need to do better than 17.7. I’m going in again either tomorrow or Thursday. If I get another 1k off including taxes, I’ll sign for around 16k. They had monthly payments at max I’d like 330, but I didn’t get the loan length or apr. so if I can get them to knock off the 1k I’ll talk with finance and see what the loan terms are. I’m m hoping I’ll be walking out with a new bike soon!

Free tires as in the cost of the tire and install? That’s actually pretty good if you actually ride the bike enough to rack up miles. HD tires are pricier than the 295 Coopers on my Tacoma.

Cost of tire only. You just pay the install fee which I think they said is like $40. But still, free cost of tires is great and if you keep it like you said and rack up the miles that’s a good amount saved. I’m really hopin I can get them to knock that 1k of so I can ride out with a new bike real soon

I got free engine warranty for life that i own the bike, and i got a tire warranty. If i hit a nail before 3mm of tread life left, I just go to any dealership and they will mount/balance any tire I want, as long as its the stock size, for free. This also includes if i hit a pothole and dent the wheel. Wheel replacement too. I think it was $200 for that

Fuck. Now I’m realizing my current dealership really sucks. They didn’t do jack. All they did was walk me to every dept (sales, finance, service, parts, and motor clothes) and you’d pick a card out of a deck at each place. You’d play the poker hand you collected at the end for a chance for some swag. I got a tshirt...

The first place I got my bike they had this thing where they’d give you a tour of the whole shop, every department and you’d meet every single person there. They’d stop what they were doing and cheer n shit and come shake your hand. Kinda cheesy but they said “you’re part of the family now, yadda, yadda”. Each place would give you swag to add to a goody bag. I remember getting a bike wash kit, a trickle charger, shirt, gremlin bell and an oil change voucher. Then they’d take your picture with your bike and give you a framed copy and add it to a huge wall of previous purchasers. Thought that was cool. Extra cool was that I had three other family members on that wall dating back to the late 80s/early 90s when my picture was added.

This other place can suck it.

It's a shame they didn't throw back to the silver and yellow of the original. Then again, current HD corporate probably wouldn't be super keen on the masses finding out where the "Fat Boy" moniker was derived from.
(The model was launched to celebrate reclaiming market share from the Japanese cruisers. The name is an amalgamation of "Fat Man" and "Little Boy"...)

I got to meet all the parts and sales people, tshirt, sign the wall, and ring a bell - and then everyone cheered as they handed me the keys. And I got my picture taken when I was leaving.

they also gave me a $200 gift card because their finance guy was new and it took 3 hours to get me out of the door. But that was on them, and not given to everyone

I think I may have pissed off my sales guy because he wanted to take my picture for their Instagram page. I politely declined and said I don’t want my picture taken for any social media.

The place I bought mine gives 15% off as many accessories/gear as you want in the first year but then I moved across the country not long after buying it. I made their sale pretty simple though. I just told them what I was willing to pay under their asking price contingent on the 0% rate and we went from there. They tried a few times with the weird BMW lease/buy deal but that makes no sense when you can get free money on a loan.

This was the point of the Nightster back in ‘09. They paid millions for a new ad campaign targeting Hipsters. I can’t say it was a surefire success. They did manage to snag me away from a long series of ‘70s Japanese Craigslist bikes over two decades, so there’s that.

I need to put in some work on my Japanese basket case. I paid 1200 dollars for this stupid bike 3 years ago and it's cost me way more since then lol

I just got an invoice to buy a Street Bob from a dealer in Chicago. $15.5k shipped to me, including CA tax. Just have to register it here. Gonna be taking that to the HB dealer and say beat this.
