They just got back to me. They said they’re waiting on a VIN (because they don’t keep California compliant bikes in Chicago) and should have it tomorrow.

Just got off the phone with the dealer. They were having trouble finding a regular street bob that was ca compliant, but they found one with ABS. They said they’d split the cost of the $895 that it costs and only charge me 400 for it so the total of the bike otd comes to 15.9. I said fuck it. They’re overnighting me the paperwork and I’ll have it sent back Friday and then I should have my bike by middle of next week!

It’s always riding weather in California though ;) but I’m super stoked! Can’t wait to finally have a bike.

I didn't want ABS at first, but after it kicked in when a minivan pulled out in front of me without looking, I'm glad I had it. You honestly don't realize it's there otherwise. Good of them to split the cost with you.

Ya I’m kinda glad I’m actually getting it now. And ya this dealer has been exceptional. They straight up said without me asking we’ll go ahead and eat the cost if you’re willing to split it with us. I’m very happy with their service.

Don’t worry, I’m going to ask them to send a t shirt too ;)

I am always blown away by people who bitch about it. 99% of the miles I ride/drive occur where ABS would be useful, deleting it for the 1% seems needless.

I've always been a "less is more" kind of guy for my vehicles. So the least optioned one I can get, the better. But it's hard to get away from with newer vehicles all around.

I look at it as one more thing that can break and need fixing costing more money. But, it’s probably extremely useful and very nice to have. I wouldn’t have gotten it had they not said they couldn’t find one without, but I’m glad now looking in to it more that I’m getting one with.

I'm all for ABS as long as it can be turned off when needed. Probably not a big deal on a Harley, but on an ADV bike pointed downhill, offroad, in very loose dirt, realizing that you forgot to turn off ABS last time you restarted the bike can be so butt puckering it's not even funny. Basically lose all your brakes.

Any of you purchase the priority maintenance plan? Is it worth it if so? How easy is it to do your own services?

I hear the 1k service is worth it to do at the dealership, and then the rest can be done at home.

I had the prepaid service plan on the anniversary 48, and the Slim, but i never got over a year of owning them

Ya. It seems it’s a 36 month deal. I really don’t anticipate putting on 10k miles a year to really make it worth the cost. I’m going to pass on it and just scoot up to @GHOST SHIP house and have him do my maintenance

also, just found out they can get me a brand new 2019 with ABS for cheaper than the 2020. Soooo I’m gonna go with the 2019 and use the savings to pay for the first 1k service.

    the Chicago dealer?

Also, you guys have better weather that East Coast. On average, I do about 3500 miles between April and October. And thats just me farting around on ~1 hour long rides. I dont really go much farther than that.

Yeah. I’m only talking to the Chicago dealer now. It’s been 3 days without contact from HB haha.

Maybe I will put a lot more on. Just depends how often I ride it to work I guess. Either way, I think I can do all the maintenance work myself. I will do the 1k service at the dealer though (NOT the HB dealer lol)
