    Good point! Thanks!

I make a point to turn around and look at the driver behind me when waiting. Or like you mentioned, checking mirrors if no one is yet behind me.

Planning on going for a scoot tomorrow afternoon, can’t wait!

While stopped at a traffic light, I keep my right foot on the rear brake and my left foot on the ground; transmission in 1st with the clutch in.

I understand your hesitance after that situation to sit in neutral with the clutch out at a light for sure. It is hard on the throw out bearing to be clutch in for lenghts of time however. Catch 22 there. I ALWAYS leave it in gear with the clutch in at a light if there is no one behind me (and people coming up behind me) just in case i need to peace the fuck out. But once a few people stack up behind me then ill pop her in neutral

I have never had an issue on any bike or car with holding the clutch in. It may cause wear but not enough to degrade the life of the clutch. Youll have to replace clutch plates before anything ever happened.

Rode 34 miles of trails today. It was actually nice being out there on my own. Started actually learning the trail numbers since i usually just follow someone

Had to replace the clutch colar and throw out bearing on my Grom at 3.4k miles when I got it due to the previous owner holding the clutch in with it in gear while stopped. It definitely is harder on things vs neutral. But yes shouldnt be an issue

I tried working on my pivot turns and log hops but i need more practice and work on form

Eh id put that up to abuse/neglect or part issue. Maybe its predominant on groms. But on the 20k+ miles ive logged riding i havent come across it and ive done it on every bike ive owned.

How do you know it was from him holding the clutch in while stopped? The clutch sees way more abuse from stop and go riding then it does sitting at a stoplight.
I heard working on wheelies fries the stock clutch super fast.

The part that went bad was heavily glazed, the only time it gets any wear is when their is a difference in input and output of the clutch (as it's what the basket rides on). Biggest difference in input and output is in gear stopped (so output isn't spinning) and clutch basket is due to the motor idiling. It's partial design flaw on the Grom as they don't oil that area well especially at idle. Either way most bikes shouldn't have a problem but it does cause more wear.

Previous owner didn't stunt or wheelie it, clutch plates n discs still look new even at 7400 miles with 4k of my bbk n abuse, snaps clutch up 2nd gear wheelies easy.
