Motorex Trail Gear Oil 75w?

Well...who am I to argue with Courtney G. from customer service.

 

Except he's wrong on this one. Might be just a matter of different timing in the 3rd gen transfer case actuators, but there's a whole thread of people having shifting issues using 75W90: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/‘16-newer-transfer-cases.636057/ The problem might be masked if your region never sees freezing temps.

 

All I’m saying is no local Toyota dealer uses 75w and some haven’t even heard of it. I’ve used it in three vehicle without issue. 75w was created to improve mpg just like going with a 0w20 or 0w16, but this doesn’t mean it provides more protection. Use what makes you happy. I’m just giving my 2 cents and what I’ve researched.
