The MA1 is on sale. I've been thinking about getting one for the Tacoma. Still trying to decide if it is worth the $70. Have you used it with your truck? What are you thoughts? I currently connect to Android Auto using a USB cable.

    Itz JDM tyte, yo!
I have one in my truck for around a month. It takes like 15 seconds after starting up my truck to connect to Android Auto.

It disconnects at like 1/2 spots out of many places I went. Otherwise everything works fine.

Mine was a Christmas gift so short term review.

Takes a little bit to connect, maybe 30 seconds. Nothing hateful.

Generally works well. I do have issues with audio playback but I high suspect Amazon music is the inside and not the device.

    Generally I like it.

Thanks for the reply. The start up time is not a big deal But the disconnections would probably be a no go for me.

I've been using an MA1 and LGV60 with great convenience since getting my truck in early September. It has disconnected from time to time but re-connects. I think it happens when entering an area with heavy EMI. It is super convenient to just hop in the truck and go. Hands free operation as you know with AA.

My phone gets pretty warm when on the wireless charger.
I paid $95 for mine originally and put it in my wife's Subaru Outback. When we picked up the truck, I stole it and it's NEVER going back. YMMV:burnrubber:

Personally id just keep the usb. Charges faster than the wireless pad and you get better audio quality

The only time I've seen my ma1 disconnecting was due to the phone overheating on the stock wireless charger. My connection time is closer to 10 or 15 seconds after startup.

It works flawlessly for me. I love this thing. Phone in pocket and connected automatically every time.

I love my MA1. I’ve had it for a few months now. It takes 15 or 20 seconds to connect… I’m usually backing out of my driveway during that time, so usually as I’m shifting into drive, it’s connected. I have only seen mine lose connection while driving twice in all the time I’ve had it, and both times were on the same stretch of road, so there must be some sort of interference going on in that particular spot. Otherwise it has worked perfectly.

It’s really nice not to have to dig you phone out of your pocket and try to get a stupid USB cable in it, while not crashing, just to check the traffic or get some directions. It also allows me to send voice texts while I’m on Google maps, which I could never get the crappy Entune to do. I also mounted mine just like @Waterloo Wonder above.

I recently bought this as well. As far as I can tell it works flawlessly and I love having Google maps but....
Unfortunately, I've kinda lost the steering wheel button controls. Volume works but I have a hard time switching stations on Sirius XM and even if it does it will not show current song title on the screen. Which drives me crazy!
Anybody else experiencing problems like this?

I have a Motorola One 5G Ace. I bought a Carlinkit 5.0 2air. I couldn't get AA to connect at all. I ordered the Motorola MA 1. It paired right up and wireless AA is working great. No more wires to clutter up the truck and my phone stays in my pocket.

I had a ma1 but it was pretty flakey and would randomly stop working at times, requiring that I unplug it and plug it back in for Android auto to resume again.

It finally kicked the bucket and stopped working altogether so I'm going to be trying out a canalink 3.0

I don't remember the pre 2020 having android auto.

Can you get android auto/apple carplay to work when you connect the phone to the head unit directly via USB?
