 I'm no injector genus by any means, but I do know that Denso makes good parts for Tacoma's. I'll be waiting to see how this turns out.

I installed them 3 months ago, they're 5cc larger than stock, no problems so far.

I've done research on injectors and I'll be buying from here when the time comes. Nothing wrong with remanufactured OEM. They are matched for flow and well done.

I know there are a lot of fakes out there. I’ve heard good things about motorwest. When you got them you could see a denso logo on them?

I spoke with Martin Diaz the owner of Motorwest Performance recently to ask him about the decision to not refurbish the OEM Aisin injectors anymore and sell Denso replacements. Martin told me that he was seeing problems with the Aisin injectors and decided to not offer them anymore. Here's what he says on his website:

"After years of research and development, we are discontinuing this product and introducing and more reliable and cost effective Denso injector replacement.

The original 23250-62040 (brown) injectors have an internal solenoid defect that fails over time, with high mileage engines being the most affected by this.

The symptoms begin as an intermittent random misfire. The issue then becomes ongoing when the vehicle reaches normal operating temperature. Finally the internal injector solenoid dies and the misfire becomes permanent.

The great news is we now offer a solution to solve the issue permanently. We are so confident in the replacement injector’s reliability that we are offering Lifetime Warranty on every unit sold!"

Martin is a good dude and I trust what he is telling us about the original injectors. If I were in the market for a set of injectors, I'd buy them from Motorwest Performance.

I am definitely considering them, I just want to make sure they are legit, esp cause they are also refurbished.

They are legit. They have the Denso part number on them.

I don't suppose that he happened to mention which year/model used the -62040 injectors or what he meant by "high mileage"?

No, he didn't. Give Martin a call. He'll spend time on the phone with you and answer all your questions.

Did you ever track down the source of your leak? I was trying to follow you through that thread. Wonder why fuel1 sells them for $100.00 less than Motorwest

After taking out the injectors and replacing the o-rings and reinstalling them (never found any problem with the o-rings) I noticed that the intake manifold bolts that hold the manifold to the block were loose enough to turn by hand. I torqued them all down to spec and then reassembled the plenum. Seemed to help a bit, but its back to leaking again. Either the bolts loosened up again or there's another leak I haven't found yet! It's frustrating, but at least I've ruled out the injectors as being the source of the leak.

As for the other vendor selling at 1/2 price, I don't know, I haven't heard of fuel1, but Motorwest came very highly recommended, and $33 per injector is a good price if you know they are not fakes.

Damn dude. I just put these in but I haven’t started it up yet. Did you ever get this worked out?

Still running the green MotorWest refurbs and they're great! Never did get my vacuum leak 100% solved, but tightening the bolts on the intake helped.

Back to this. We’re you thinking you had a vacuum leak because fuel trims are high?

Yes, but I had the problem before switching the injectors. Also spark plugs are grey/white which seems to indicate lean condition.

If your spark plugs were showing lean did you not have a check engine light?

Apparently not lean enough to throw a code. *shrug* Engine runs well enough and I couldn't find the leak even using a smoke vapor bottle or a water bottle, but squirting water all over did cause it to get sucked into the intake, just couldn't pinpoint it.

Dealing with the same thing. Home made smoke machine at .5 psi didn’t show up. Maybe I need to crank up the pressure.
