I would pay attention FB Market place, craigslist, etc... Just picked up a 1up rack with extension for $150. Honestly felt like I stole it.

Have you had any issues with the mount hanging the bike like that? I was thinking of doing something similar of the prinsu top rack on the topper. I have test mounted it but haven’t driven down the road yet. It’s the Rocky Mounts HotRod fork mount. Was thinking I would use a titan strap for the back wheel on the bumper. What’s everyone’s thoughts?

No issues so far. I also used strap and a little homemade bracket to secure the back wheel.

Just drove from Ohio to Colorado last month, no issues

Okay cool, good to know. I’m waiting on a response from Rocky mounts and their thoughts. I like the idea of not having a hitch rack always in the way of the tailgate at camp.

Take a look at 1Up bike racks. I've had one set up for double Ebikes on my RV for a couple of years now, very secure. No wobble

Cross posted from the “Sleeping in your camper” thread…

    Pivot Switchblade, 29, medium. DCLB.

This is my set up. The board with the fork mount ramps up under the back tire so the chainstays and derailleur aren’t in contact with the fridge. That same ramped-up section of the board is wedged snug between the fridge and bed and it keeps the rest of the board from tipping or sliding.

Sometimes I keep the fridge in the truck cab and that gives me more space to move the bike over to the side and have more room if I need to sleep with the bike inside.

Had to laugh when I saw this thread. I got a Harbor freight carrier for dirt cheap works great on a man's bike.

Not a mountain bike per se, but my ElliptiGO. Use rubber coated wire ties to secure the wheels to the carrier (not shown in pic). Very stable.

Ended up getting two of the Rockymounts DropTop locking fork mounts. Strapped the rear tires super tight around the bumper with titan straps and they didn’t move at all. Just recently did a trip to western CO and Moab and had no issues, even on dirt roads at 45+. Unfortunately I loose access to the rear hatch but I have the side windows which helps a lot. Very happy with it.

This looks nice but curious as to how this is better than a 1up? Losing access to the entire bed seems like a hassle.

I do loose some access to the bed via the tailgate but I have side windoors that allows really good access to the back, can still open the cooler. Plus the bikes come off most racks when you get to camp/trailheads anyways. This set up is half the cost of a single 1up rack.

I have a 1 up that fits two bikes, but it’s usually just me.

I only use it for transport to the trail because I live in the theft capital of the universe so I prefer to put the bike in the bed of the truck if I plan on doing anything else.

I camped in the back of my trucks for 17 years. I never had a set up anywhere close to that.

I have a 1UP Super Duty double rack on the back of my RV. Never failed me! About to take a 3,200 mile 25 day RV trip. I more worried about getting along with my
wife for that long than my 1Up failing me!

how do you have the drawer anchored near the cab? so it doesn't tip when you open the drawer fully.

A thick eye screw in the side of the cabinet and a turnbuckle attaching it to the D-ring in the truck bed floor. One of those near the cab and one at the tailgate. So it’s only anchored on the left side, the outside.
