Lookin good dude! What are those mounting pieces, they look like a hub or something.

And, told you I would make it happen.

Holy shit! You caught a fish from the front seat of your truck?! I'm truly impressed and envious right now!
Thanks! Yep, it is an old 6 on 5.5 hub that I cut most everything off of to weld to my arm.

Yeah, it was pretty cool, I caught like 5 of them there in a matter of minutes! That was on the Goose trail, the trail goes through the outlet of a lake that was stacked with Brookies.

Very cool, I have a 1/4" circle that I am not looking forward to punching holes through, that may be the breaking point to buy a press.

If you lay it all out and mark it you may be able do have a machine or fab shop do it for $10-15.

Finally got around to throwing a quick couple coats on the bumpers to hold off the rust over winter. Got way too busy to finish it but hope I can still do it sometime this winter.

Here is what the bumper will look like with the tire carrier on it

There enough clearance for the tailgate? Looks like the carrier will hit the tailgate when the body and bumper flex either offroad or in some on road situations.

We are putting a rubber foot (like the ones in your door jambs) that will stick out of the back of the carrier and contact the gate first.

Have you tried to put your spare tire on that hub yet ? It doesn't look like it has enough of a stand off to clear the back edge of the tire ?

just measured mine for you travis.

my plate sticks out 8-1/2" and the tire clears by about 2-1/4"

the tilt you have will help. tire will come closest to the angled piece.

here's to hoping you already tried it and confirmed it works

I've done the math and designed it to work with a 35x12 in case I ever were to go big like that. I run pizza cutters right now and will plenty of room behind.

Wow, it looks so low profile compared to my tire gate and you can't see daylight between my 35x12.5 and the gate. Obviously back spacing plays a huge part too. Nice work ! I really wish I had the ability to build some of my own stuff but living in a townhome is not exactly conducive for metal working.

Next time I get a chance, I will take a picture from the side so that you can see how far away from the gate it all is. Thanks for lookin!

Edit- it looks super close because the carrier is actually leaning against the gate. Since I haven't welded in the spindle I had to do that for the photo. I just realized that.
