A bumper here, some tires there..... you know, stuff.
yeah, i can see that. couple of snatch blocks and you can still winch backwards :D crazy how it works too.

we can always build you something else! i've got some left over 1X2 square and 1.5" tubing too. but i'm using a good portion of that for the dual swing outs

We might have to think about some ideas! I've got a few ideas for projects, one of them is window well covers now that I've got Rugrats that are able to run around in the backyard. The other is some frames stiffeners, because I welded on my sliders and the frame plates were pretty small, I have thought that maybe building some bolt on frame stiffeners just so that I don't have to worry about bending my frame if I come down on the sliders really hard.

the plates couldn't be that small if they are big enough for the legs. i doubt you would need stiffeners. yeah, window wells and the little ones are not the best combination

Yeah, I'm not too worried about it. The sliders themselves will act as somewhat of a support too, and the pressure will be dispersed along a good portion of the frame.

What I really need is a rear bumper, but it's a bit of an intimidating task.

Haven't been on for a while...

Just wanted to stop in and say your rig looks awesome Travis..Well Done!
    :jellydance:

I've recently finished mounting all the Skids I ordered so I'm pretty decently armored up. Now I just need to improve my clearance & rake..
I'm hoping to get my lift and new tires/wheels done next Spring once it warms up and I can hopefully convince (aka Bribe with Beer & Food) some local members to help me switch everything out.. ;)

I may get the tires/wheels sooner than later depending on what kinda sale/deals the new Discount Tire up north has when it opens up... :D

Hope all is well w/ family life and lemme know when you're available for a beer...we can try and get Justin (Elk340) to join in too perhaps..
    Cheers!

Good lord Justin! You still don't have your bumper on?
Drag your pile down this way and we'll bolt it all on.

That's my daughter ( already 1.5 years!) holding James, who is now just over a month.
Justin, congrats on the ARB, you have been shopping for that for a long time now. Did you get exactly what you wanted or did you settle for no fogs?
Eric, we need to get all of us together another trail run ASAP before winter. I'm all about snow bashing but prefer wheelin on dirt/rocks.

I did finally get the ARB with the fogs for the price I wanted to pay. It just took a year to get it done! I'm still waiting for ToyTec to ship the fogs since they didn't arrive with the bumper. I still haven't sanded and painted those Budbuilt skids I have...I'm slacking.

You are more patient than I am! I am really slacking, still need to repaint my sliders. The rust is getting pretty bad.

That is nothing short of awesome! Congrats Travis on the family mod! Cooler than any possible truck mod.
All we need is a when and where... Let's do it!
We can put the bumper and the skids on and put the fogs in when they get here. Chop Chop!
I forget what you painted your sliders with Travis, but that's why I used flat black Rustoleum on mine. In about 3 seconds, after every time they're "used" I touch up my armor with a quick shot from a spray can.

Thanks! It's pretty amazing to be surrounded by people you would give you life for.
I am waiting for the forest road site to get updated, I think the govt shutdown kept them from getting to do that. We will have to see what's open. Deadman area was open and I only cruised through without taking many trail spurs. That could be a fun day of exploring.
My sliders got away from me. I used to do the same thing but then I did the quarry on moody hill and took A LOT do paint off and I have been too lazy to do it cuz I hate trying to mask off the truck. Thinking about getting some bed liner stuff that I can roll/brush on to skip masking

    Excellent!
Sounds like we just need to set a time & place to grab a beer and setup a mod day...
Congratulations Travis!! Didn't realize/know that y'all were pregnant with your second.. BUSY times for sure! My wife and I have our hands full with our almost 3YO daughter, so I can only imagine how you're doing..
Lemme know what works for you guys to maybe just grab a beer and meet so we can try and setup a NoCo/FoCo mod day down the road..

    Cheers,
    Marcelo
