My 1st Gen was built in California, however still owned by a Japanese company.

Yeah almost impossible to buy 100% made in the USA vehicle. Personally I don’t care where it is built, well sorta, wish the Tacoma was built in Japan.

Probably buying a F350 next, would buy another Toyota since I am a fan boy, but unfortunately they don’t make a 1 Ton.

This is what I am referring to about the area I grew up in, why seeing a US flag on a Toyota is odd to me. They bleed Red, White & Blue to the core.

The ones who scream respect the flag the loudest, then are seen wearing a representation of it as underwear or a bikini in that case. Not sure what the message is they are trying to convey.

I believe that intentions matter. When I display the the flag my intentions are that of respect, honor and pride. I fly the flag to show that I'm proud and I want to encourage others to have that as well.
Let's stay positive and go America!

https://www.almanac.com/us-flag-eti...horizontally, but, have anything placed on it.

“How Not to Display the American Flag
The flag and its likeness should be treated with respect. Its image should not be cheapened or tarnished by improper use.

    • The flag should not be dipped to any person or thing, including government officials—even the President.
    • The flag should never be displayed with the union (stars) down, unless as a signal of dire distress.
    • The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.
    • The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free.
    • The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored so that it might be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way.
    • The flag should never be used as a covering for a ceiling.
    • The flag should never have anything placed on it.
    • The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose, nor embroidered on cushions or handkerchiefs, printed on paper napkins or boxes, nor used as any portion of a costume.”

    You’re welcome!

According to that, flying the flag in a truck bed is probably not the most respectful or patriotic thing to do. Nor wearing a representation of it as bikini bottoms or underwear either. When I see something like that, I feel like they are shitting on it, perhaps because a lot of my family members/ancestors fought and died for this country.

I've posted colors and folded flags for fallen brothers but won't allow how somebody else treats one to get under my skin.

I've picked up random flags off the ground. I properly fly US and Texas at my house but probably broken quite a few flag codes with decals, clothing and what not. I've got overpriced made in USA clothing, tools and equipment but I also won't mind saving money on throwaway made in China tools if it's what the job calls for. I'd much rather drink Scottish and Irish Whiskey than American Bourbon.

My last F150 wasn't even built here. Wife's Mercedes was built in Alabama. We live in a global economy and it's practically impossible to have everything home grown.

Basically, being a good American is much more than flag etiquette.

Non American vehicles, heard stories of people dragging out German made VW Beetles with their good ol’ Murican pick ‘em up trucks.

It is, most of our vehicles are powered by foreign petroleum, so there is that too. You would think more Americans who deem themselves as patriots would get more behind companies like Teslas and Rivian, plus be all into renewable energy that is generated right here on US soil, but most don’t, quite the opposite really, it is some huge conspiracy to them.

Improper flag etiquette doesn’t bother me, however when I see it being flown in back of a pickup truck no matter the brand, I see ignorance. A true patriot would know the rules and guidelines.

The Union- Stars should always be upright and facing north or east. Those pictures were of a Military funeral, handled that way when properly folded.

Believe they mean while unfurled. So when they do that at sporting events that is a big no-no.

Seems like the Airforce didn’t get the memo.
