I'd mount it on the right side for counterweight and mostly safety reasons.

I was even wondering if it could be mounted sideways with the lid opening from the bed, away from the the fin of course.

I've been interested in these cases since they were announced at the beginning of the year. I see they finally have pricing up.
Pelican makes damn good cases, but $300+ for the case and $200-$250 for the mounts. Ouch! I would need a pretty good use case to justify that much.

FYI buy cases for less has a 35% off code. I have a 140r on the way and will get the large mounting bracket after the holidays. I just can see spending hard earned coin on a high dollar case only to drill holes in it to mount. Then unmounting when not in use was another reason to go with the cargo case. I have a place holder under TW prod reviews that I will update when the case gets mounted and gets used.

Ouch, that's more than the cost of my bed mounted toolbox. The box also holds more stuff and creats no noise.

I like the Pelican products, but like others mentioned the price and amount I'd use it not justified for me. I've got roof top type cargo bag in Amazon list for future travels. But still for the OP, looks great and useful!

I mounted a bull bar to my roof rack. Actually drove it home from Texas for the friend who purchased it and is securing it down. No noise issues, my stereo drowns out all noise.20200407_125112.jpg

I think it looks great and I hope no one messes with it . Another one on the other side would be nice and if you don't get in them often I would put the latch side on the inside facing each other . Roll the tonneau cover up and get in the bed for access .

No additional noise at all with uptop bravo rack and case.

only times I can hear additional noise is when there is severe cross winds

Disregard. Oversight on my part. It actually says “recovery gear only” “alarm will sound”

I see your point though with nothing of value.

Maybe it’s already been considered but wouldn’t having it in the bed under the cover make the most sense?

    Pros:
    - Better protected from elements and people
    - Doesn’t hinder mileage
    - Easier access to gear

    Cons:
    - Doesn’t look as cool?

Living in a decent area and with my travels never really going into sketchy areas of town, I don’t worry or lose sleep over it.

I keep padlocks on it just as a layer of deterence and some additional peace of mind.

I’ve come to terms that even if it is broken into and everything is stolen, at the end of the day it isn’t a huge loss of value.

Another one will be added down the road for sure. These pelican cases aren’t the cheapest s things however hah

I see your point. Case will fit bit it is simply too large to always have in my bed and will compromise the usability of the bed.

-Case in itself provides great protection from elements.

-mileage I’m sure technically took a hit from added drag but I don’t notice a loss of mpgs whatsoever. I’m at best 18-19 mpg on freeway though

It definitely can be mounted that way. Just depends on how you drill the holes into the case to match the tracks on the roof rack rails

I saw these cases and they seems very nice. The lowest profile case they offer in this lineup however is still too high sitting on the roof rack for me. With Pelicans larger firearms cases like the one I mounted, I can still access Garages and garage parking. Couldn’t wish to try with their cargo cases though

Cases for less is a great place for pelican products. Their holiday sales were awesome. In fact I think they are still doing the sale.

this case was I believe $270 but with the discount and free shipping was around $210

Awesome my friend. I need a second case myself for the simple reason to make it symmetrical haha.
Those Plano cases lockable? I think they have built in key locks, correct?
