I know the last post was over a year ago but I love this idea as an option and was wondering how it worked out and if others had done it.
I was also thinking the shark fin antenna may be a good spot for a similar view…

It's been great. As far as I know, I'm the only one that has shown they've done it. There are two things I would change, 1 slightly adjust the angle a bit and 2 use a better cam. Head lights wash it out sometimes. Over it was a success IMO.

Anything better than the one I have. I'll eventually swap it out, but I'm happy for now.

I like this concept. Would be nice if someone came up with the third brake light/camera combo like you first tried. Reason I'd like it is for seeing in the bed when driving and make sure everything is tied down and not moving while driving.

It's been great so far. Shows 80% of the bed, great for hauling. If I did it again, I would of definitely stayed on course and figured out a better solution. Unfortunately, time was the enemy.

Camera looks great! I’m planning to do the exact same this weekend, not sure if I’m going to mount camera in the middle of the high brake light or go below, will decide this weekend when I install. How did you run the wiring for the camera?

Hey, right on! Do it! I ran the wiring above the headliner and down the driver side pillar. The cam I bought came with a pretty lengthy amount of wire.

Try to get a cam that works at night well. The one I used, struggles a bit.

Sounds like a good idea! Wasn’t planning to go above the headliner. Did you have to take down the headliner or were you able to just feed the wire from the back through the liner?

It's way easier to work when the headliner is down. I ran the wire over head to avoid the curtain airbags.

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Thanks man! I’m hoping to do it this weekend, installed my Stinger Heigh10 today so it’s all ready for the new cameras! Just a little pressed for time since I leave for Florida Thursday. Hoping to at least get the bed cam up!

Will do! Was hoping to do it this weekend but my roof rack install took me all afternoon :annoyed:
Might have to do a temp job for the camera and just install it inside the cab facing the back window for the time being. I have that setup for my dash cam w/ rear camera and I noticed today the clarity is actually really good, but I need a bigger screen. Wish there was a way to connect that camera to my Heigh10!

I have a Pormido 3 cam set up with the rear camera under the last cross bar of the Prinsu Rack. Its one of my favorite mods. You really don't realize how terrible the view is through the cab until you have no obstructions in the rear view camera.

Here is the Install video incase any one is interested.

If the cops in your area pull you over for something like that, then you have worse things to worry about. You should probably think about moving somewhere less strict/stupid. The one with the camera all the way to the passenger side should keep you legal.
