How have these held up with loads over time? Anybody running these with RTT off-road and have any issues?

No issues. My brother has them as well with a RTT and he also has no issues.

    It's complicated.
Thank you! You just saved me from buying a Prinsu Top Rack for my ARE MX canopy, and having to figure out the fitting on my own (Prinsu/CBI has been less than helpful.)

Looks like Sherpa Equipment has put thought into designing brackets to take into account the curvature & cant of the canopy top!

So please tell me you have not yet heard of @upTOPoverland bc I can't see how anyone can consciously choose any other rack over theirs except budget not being there bc you get what you pay for and you are getting more than you pay for.If you have not and would like some info and a good contact PM me or post here and I'll square you away.I dont work for them or anything more than I'm a very satisfied customer and I currently have a front alpha xl rack and rear alpha on my Overland edition Are shell. Good luck with your decision

You betcha! I actually just installed the canted brackets on my shell last weekend. So much better, plus the rack now sits a tad lower than before.

Ps, I just used the feet. I already had a prinsu rack.

@TOP TACO can you post some pictures of the feet on the Prinsu?

I did consider them, but when I looked at their website, they provided zero information on the mounting system between the rack and the canopy. The Sherpa Equipment mounting system looks perfect for my A.R.E. MX, which has a non-trivial front-to-back curvature, and a side-to-side cant.

Please post photos of the uptopoverland mounting feet/system--it would be helpful in making my decision.

    Thanks.

@TOP TACO can you snap a picture showing how the Top rack now lines up with the Cab rack? Wanting to see if you can get them to the exact same height

Out of curiosity, and from looking at the Sherpa Equip. website, can you tell if either rack itself is better than the other? I like the Prinsu rack, and many people swear by it... but after having spoken with them (and having been ignored on several emails) they've been less-than-helpful in answering questions about fitment, etc.

My thinking is that if the customer service is poor before the purchase, there's no reason to believe that the service will improve afterward.

That looks really good & solid--and would easily adapt to varying degrees of curvature & cant.

It's my understanding that the majority of these style of racks are very similar. All using the same crossbars. The main difference is going to be the side plates, and mounting options. I like the idea of having the feet attached to the crossbars rather than the side plates. But I also installed the Rhino Rack ditch tracks on my cab early on as I was only running Yakima crossbars at the time. So with the tracks on the cab, I can't use the prinsu cabrac with the mounts being attached to the side plates. Still working on my solution for the cab. But it will most likely include the use of the Sherpa adjustable mounting feet. I say go for what ever style you like that fits your budget. Of course customer service is a factor as well. Good luck with your decision and happy to answer any other questions to the best of my ability that anyone has on the matter.

I reached out to Sherpa Equipment Co. today, and got a fast response from Will, the owner. I sent him photos of my A.R.E. MX canopy, so that could see its contour and curvature--to help determine which style of feet I needed (they have feet for flat or contoured roofs.) From the photos, he determined that the flat feet will work best, and are perfectly adaptable for the front-to-back curvature of the canopy. Score!

I'm ordering their Crows Nest rack, long bed version, with 6 of their adjustable feet (all powdercoated) and the crossbars in black. Plus several of their Sherpa Smiley's. :)

How great is it to actually get help from a company, when inquiring about BUYING one of their products! (Are you listening Prinsu/CBI???)

Glad you were able to find a rack that works best for your specific needs. But please go easy on this thread, as it's meant for for mounting foot alternatives. Sometimes you have to mix and match to meet your needs. Everyone's situation can be different. And often requires a little creativity...

Good points. And until I found this thread, I didn't know that mixing & matching was even an option.

I don't have a cabrac yet. But I don't see any reason why you couldn't get them the same height as the toprac.

@TOP TACO what is the length of the base of the feet, i.e. the part that bolts down to the tracks on the shell?
