    Hey everyone,

I am going to be picking up a used factory hitch in a few days. It does not come with any mounting hardware. I searched for the specs online but didn't find anything. Does anyone know what size and how many bolts I need? I'd rather just hit the hardware store instead of the stealership. Thanks

    stock, for now
just go to the hardware store and get grade 8 bolts, nuts and lock washers. Should need them very long. I believe its 4 to the frame rails, and then 2 or 4 on the top of the frame on either side.

so total i think its 8 bolts, but on the 1st gens you gotta take the bumper off. not sure about the new trucks

I just installed the factory hitch on my 05 tacoma. Each side was 8 bolts i think, then 2 on each side that go vertical, then the 2 that go thru the rear bumper to the hitch. I'll check the instructions to see the bolt sizes if they say it and i'll let you know.

Correct. There is alot of bolts as the factory hitch has a reinforcment plate.

that would be great. I checked the FSM, but it doesn't really address what bolts are used to install.
