Mounting On Tailgate

I have this idea of mounting a rotopax on my tailgate on the outside. I want to know if it is possible to do so. Is the tailgate strong or is it sheet metal. the inside is plastic. I assume it can be taken off and I can see inside the tailgate. Not sure if something fabed inside for strength. I would like to have 1 water can and one gas for hunting with my dog. I have been unable to find anyone that attempted this. Please share your input.

 

I come into this thinking you was talking about "mounting" on the tailgate. I was let down.

There are tailgate reinforcement products from vendors on this site to replace the factory plastic inner skin with steel.
