I’m thinking of getting some spot lights for my truck. I like the 4” round look. I found this photo of a Tacoma with the lights mounted on the Front of a pro grille. Has anybody else tried this? Are there any pros or cons to mounting them directly to the grille? Any feedback and/or pics welcome. Thanks!28DBABC1-188E-4511-B17C-7AB68B382909.jpg

Has to be a bracket connecting those to something metal and solid.

The grill and surround are far from structural, you'd have cracks or worse in short order.

Makes sense. I wonder if anyone else has mounted lights on the front of the grille with brackets or a metal support on the back? I’m trying to avoid installing an external mounting bar to the already large chinned front bumper.

I mounted mine on an SOS Offroad Concepts Streamline bumper. These are visionx light cannons, so a bit different than what you're looking at. They're great spot beams. My flood beams are up on the roof rack.

There's not a lot of metal behind the grill - it is designed to crunch a lot to protect a pedestrian in an impact. You would have to fabricate a fairly large bracket to get the lights to stay in place.

My wires for the two spots have worn through the finish where they pass through the grill over the last 20k or so miles. No big deal, it's just cosmetic, but something to keep in mind if you care a lot about looks.
