Looking for a MOLLE-type strap I can clip my transceiver on. I’m thinking it would wrap around the column completely. Anyone got ideas?

I tried using heavy duty velcro to mount my HAM radio like that but on the face of the dash...yeah that didn't work out too well.

One toasty spot for a radio.

Try one of those things in your sink that hold the sponge. They are small enough to hook into your dash somewhere

You can go up at little higher to the lower "oh shit handle mount", make a hole through a strap that you wrap around the plastic piece. There should be enough room for you to clip it still and that plastic is flexible enough to bend around a girthy strap
