this was done without removing the wiper arms... just lifted up the cowling on the passenger side.

    Same as everybody else...
That cowling on my 09 is beginning to crack, looks like it's pretty easy to replace.A couple of clips and it should just come off. I haven't had any critters in my CAF but these pics explain why I have found line tree needles and leaves in there.

I turned on the A/C which I just fixed last month (bad blower relay) and experienced eau de Mouse. So I checked the cabin air filter and... ta da!

    Dammed mice...

I just changed my cabin filter on the '07. One of those "I'll do it soon things."

This thing was gross. (after ten years, doh)

    Nothin yet....
I did a similar thing to what GREENBIRD56 did. I took the wipers and the cowl off and put 1/4" hardware cloth over the intake and the two spaces on the far left and right under the cowl as well. I attached the screen with several
self tapping metal screws. They may still find nooks but they won't get in the ventilation system anymore

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
I had one build a nest on top of the cabin filter within a year of buying it. They like the foam that lines that intake box. They also got a bit of the flat insulation against the firewall in the engine bay. I did the screen deal over the intake like the previous pics and haven't had a problem since. But now I check the cabin filter way more often than I should.

Looks like I need to do something for the engine air inlet too. Last filter change, rat turds on the filter and in the duct. Needs something out under the fender liner?
