IMG_4259.jpg Greetings all, Jules from Ukee here.

After a lifetime of dedication to my F-150s, I have finally moved over from the dark side to the light - a 2017 TRD Access Cab 6A in Magnetic Grey. Best decision I've made in years.

I love the new F-150 XLT, as long as it's in my neighbour's driveway and not mine. Despite the exceptionally clean appearance and low mileage of my old F-150, it had surprisingly little trade in value (at both Ford and Toyota dealerships) due to the 5.4L Triton engine and undercarriage rust.

I had concerns about going from a full size to a mid size truck, but the Taco has proven to be a comfortable, confident and superior truck in every way. I'm off to Moab early next month for a ton of back-country fun.

    Cheers,
    Jules

Toyotas have a better resale value but Toyota also doesn't discount vehicles (Tacoma's especially) in the 10's of thousands of dollars like American manufacturers. So its no wonder a late model F150 with an overinflated MSRP of $50,000 that was discounted to $33,000 has a resale value of something in the in the $24,000 range. Its all mental masturbation with numbers. Pay more up front and have a bigger resale. Big discounts upfront and lower resale value.

Lots of folks brag how they got $20,000 off MSRP on their RAM, F series or Chevy POS and then complain when the resale value is low. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

In any event welcome to TW.
