If you read that post not recognizing that we are talking about beards, it sounds pretty fucking funny.

I know what you mean though.

It's ironic you say that - my parents got in town last night for Thanksgiving. My mom had no idea I was doing No Shave November and she freaked. She pulled the whole, "How the hell are we going to take family pictures with you looking like that?!"

    It was awesome.

I'm glad mine is looking half way decent. This is the first time i've let the whole beard go. I had a chin strap beard for about 8 years but never beyond that.

Mine looks way better than I though it would. It only looks bad now because it's so damn long.

I'll be keeping most of it come December 1st, but I will definitely trim the length and do some sculpting...well...my barber will.

I may end up having to trim it this Saturday as we are taking pictures on Sunday with the whole family, and I go to the barber every Saturday.

I'm pulling a Joe Dirt on Dec. 1st chops connecting with the beard. I just hope it grows a little more so that I can shape it up good. I'll have to snap a pic of my friend he's been working on a handle bar mustache, a la Paul Tutle Sr.

my wife was pissed back in October when i shaved the chin strap. she had never really seen me without a beard other than a few times when we first dated.

she likes the beard now that it isn't as scratchy.

    Same here.

    Must have pics.

My girlfriend feels the same way. When I shaved clean on November 1st, she hated it. Then she hated it because it got scratchy. Now she loves it - although she agrees that I need to trim it.
