I don’t like the positioning of the “oh sh*t” handles on my Gen 3 Taco, I can’t find anything on the inter webs… has anyone seen or done a mod to put new handles above your head instead of in front of you? My family and myself all like to hold onto the handles above your head in the car. But in Tacos, they are in front and it’s annoying. I’m looking for (ideally) a paracord to put there. Anyone know of anything? I’m thinking about Jerry-rigging something, but I don’t want to do it wrong. If there isn’t a product to move the spot where the handle is, does anyone have tips on Jerry-rigging something? Thanks, y’all.

Are you referring to the front passenger handle? Because the drivers side has no grab handle. There is a thread on here for a drivers side addition, product is not recommended as the seller is now banned.

As for gerryrigging something, personally I wouldn’t. Not with all the airbags. Don’t want that thing causing injury.

The previously quoted ‘shall not be named’ company has had a shit storm of service issues. But the product seems reasonably well accepted. They also have rear grab handles that have been released. Research and buy at your own risk though. I was an OG buyer and yeah, it took a damn long time to get mine but it’s installed and works well.

That doesn’t solve your front passenger issue, but the back seats might be kinda cool. They remind me of the grabs in my wife’s old Disco V.

I just did a quick dirty loop with handle on the passenger side.
It goes between the window and door frame.
My wife would get car sick not being able to hold on above her head.
It’s not pretty but hey it works and she uses it!
