    Hi all
Moving from NY to CO in a few months. Had hoped to save money, but looks like the reg prices are pretty high in CO! So a few questions:
    - is the 2017 Tacoma considered a light truck or pax vehicle?
    - when I estimated reg/tax, it seemed pretty high for a 4 year old vehicle ($900+). It’s not a new vehicle, and I bought it 3 years ago ( when I, umm, paid NY state a boatload of tax). Any guesses on total $ to reg my vehicle the first year? I just want to pay as little as possible considering the 2 vehicles and 4 motorcycles we are (hopefully?) bringing to CO (I’m too scared to check into MC reg yet!)
    Thanks from NY.

Which part of Colorado will help answer your questions.

Denver... specifically considering Parker, SE Aurora and surrounding areas.

Ownership tax, increased fees for the 1st 10 years of owning a vehicle (from date of purchase). Determined by original MSRP and drops in stages until you pay about $80 after the 10 year mark. I would think you should be in the sub $400 range by now. The only work-around is to sell it and buy a beater.

That's kinda what I was saying. They hit that 11th year and they stick there. My 81 truck was the same price as my 2004 4runner.

Can confirm. I have a 2017 Taco and paid $280 last year. It only goes down from there.

I have a 2004 vehicle that I pay $73 for every year. $3 of that is the fee for paying through credit card via JeffCo's online portal.

Thanks to ALL for the responses! Very helpful and wow you guys are on it.

Now, since I just had this happen today, perhaps someone could point me in the right direction on another issue. Big snow storm in NY this week, backing up into snowy driveway it suddenly felt like the brakes were on, like I was fighting it to go, had to push on the accelerator a bit to back it in fully. Seems to happen when cornering from stop in reverse or forward, but only in 4H. To me it feels like trani slipping, but hey, my new tires are on back order and I never liked these Wranglers.... I bought the truck in 2018 and got stuck in a snow storm the first day driving home. Never experienced this issue before.

35k on 2017 ( I think I’m still under 60k for power train warranty?) but I’m nervous about this bc I’m worried it’s an issue with the transmission. I had a RAV4 AWD with 170k on it without a single issue. Diff I know but still, I expect no problems with Toyota’s ( which is why I flew to NC to buy this one).

I figure I can take to the dealership but my gut feeling says they’re going to tell me they can’t replicate (go-to verbiage).

Seems like a known issue ....but what exactly IS the issue. Thoughts?

Maybe it's binding while in 4WD. They act weird when all the tires are trying to get traction and fight each other in turns. Or just enough snow to create enough resistance for the truck to overcome was more than you expected.

Where in NY are you coming from?

I ask because I was born in Syracuse. But been here since I was 4. Still have family up there and go back often to visit.
