Hi I have a job opportunity in Phoenix that will require moving my family from SoCal and this thread has been a huge help. Many thanks to ArizonaD54 and everyone else who posted. We have been on the GTFO of CA plan for a few years now and are looking for a good and safe area to raise our children. AZ offers so many things that attracted us, most importantly being a red state and second amendment friendly not to mention the better quality of life and 4x4 trails.

My job will be in the Phoenix industrial park off S.40th/E.Roesler and I'm trying to find somewhere close to land so that I won't have a long commute to and from. We are looking at rental homes in Gilbert and Chandler and I read some mention of certain areas to stay away from there. Can you guys elaborate on that a bit or mention another area that is close thanks?

I'm also a new member. Bought a 2012 TRD TX Pro a couple weeks back. Hoping to learn more from the community here - haven't been a part of any local car/truck community since I moved to AZ

    Cheers,

Actually when I was looking at it I didn't even know that the TX Pro was an actual model at all! I was looking for a manual off road and stumbled upon it. I'm in downtown Phoenix, I travel for work quite a bit - but I definitely want to attend some when I'm in town

Plasti-dip all chrome logos to black, more to come...
Been AZ (low end scottsdales/tempe) for a little while but just got a 2015 double cab tacoma prerunner TRD off road. One day ill change it up to 4x4 but got to stay in price range. (more pics soon)

    Dipped emblems:

    Small plans:
It seems the pros have tinted headlights. I would like to find the price from the dealer when they open tomorrow and see about that.( want to see if the tail lights are the same, if not im looking around at some others)
I have a chrome grill that i want to either dip black like the emblems or by the all black from Toyota.
Bed extender because I have a short bed.
Change the TRD Off Road decal to flat black letters with flat black shadow( I have created an AI file of the logo. First draft, If any one wants it let me know.)

If any one knows of any other cheap or easy mods let me know. Gonna be fun to get started.
What are some cool first spots to go to? Maybe camp and shoot some guns. Or just sit around enjoy the nature.

I have seen and read about those areas. They seem pretty packed now a days from what I can tell. But maybe during the week it's not so bad. I have been to sycamore I think for shooting when I just had a car. But maybe I'll explore that a little more. What area are you in ?

So, like many before me, we are packing up and heading to AZ! Last year we moved up to NY from VA Beach (AWESOME TW Group in VA) to help with family. We are closing that chapter of our lives and starting fresh. Our lease is up in September, and we're heading your way shortly after.

We're not sure where we'll live or work but we'll figure it out. I'm a computer/network guy, as well as a "jack of all trades". I'm really ready for a change and can do part or full time as I have my Navy retirement pay. My wife is an RN and her license is good in AZ.

We just got back from a road trip that we were able to spend a 5 days in AZ. Although Sedona was our "home" for 4 of them... it is just where we slept while we hit a bunch of National Parks and touristy things. The weather was fabulous. We both like HOT and more importantly DRY! I was so bummed we drove the Highlander as there were so many places I would have loved to take the Taco.

Speaking of Taco's.... I saw almost as many in AZ as I'm used to in Southeastern VA! Looking forward to meeting you folks in a few months.
