    Tis my long range (about 1 year from now) goal... to live camping... having a home base to hit every now and then. Work is becoming less important!!!

    I own a car with a motor swapped from another car, is that illegal in this state?
    is there a yearly emission test? or any form of inspection?
    When you register a vehicle, do you pay the tax of the car yearly or all upfront?

    Not illegal, you may have some extra paperwork during your initial inspection.
    Yes, if you are in Maricopa or Pima County you will have emission inspection every two years ($28). If the vehicle has an OBDII they just plug into that and then test your gas cap. Any other county and no emissions.
    We pay paxes every time we register.
