me? No, looking to leave CA. From OC to AZ.

Although over the last two weeks my wife was given a promotion within her company (great for her), but now we are staying. Unfortunately.

property management. It is not a matter of finding work, but for career path she needs to stay in this role for a bit. For resume purposes.

2020 is our new goal to get out there. Intend to save save save, and try and get to a 50% down payment on a house in Chandler.

My friend used to live in tempe, right off of Ray Rd and across the street from chandler. We liked that entire area in general as well, but I got offered a job down here. We still visit the phx area frequently on the weekends.

It is getting pricey for AZ standards, everyone paying top dollar for the school districts. Curious to see what the market does over the next 2 years.

Recent OC to PHX transplant. Do it if you can. Best decision my family made. I only wish we could have kept the CA house as a rental, but oh well. It was nice to cut ties with that state.

We sold our last two rentals in south Tempe last fall. It is defiantly a sellers market now. Prices are close to the $/sq ft as they were in the boom of 2004.

Yea, I’m in the development business so we track it constantly. When I go (if it works out) I will buy one of the homes we develop at 7% discount. So really looking to come in 50% down and just lay low after that.

Just finished all 40 pages...nice thread.

    Lots of good info.

Corporate move for my spouse has AZ in the crosshairs. Potentially spring of 2019.

We’ve been vacationing in AZ on and off for the last 6 years, Flagstaff, Williams, Tucson, Tombstone, Sedona...really nice dispersed and campground camping.

    Keeping my fingers crossed.

Good luck man. My wife and I are still loving it down here in the SV area, esp now that the monsoon season has kicked off. The only down side is after a week of fairly steady rain, the weeds in the front yard have gotten ridiculous.

Thanks for that...we just spent 3 days cruising around a few AZ neighborhoods. We are also toting my 91 year old father, so another consideration in the search is his comfort and proximity to an American Legion Post. :oldglory:

Carefree/Cave Creek, Rio Verde, Mesa, Chandler, and Fountain Hills were where we focused our searches.

I just frikkin love AZ...McDowell Mtn recreation area actually has a "competition loop" for mountain bikes...

We visited a super chill bike shop in Fountain Hills, McDowell Mountain Bikes. Rob and Ron gave us a fistful of trail maps and local riding info.

And we got official word...move date is Jan 1. 2019...or earlier. :dancingbacon:

Tons and tons and tons of awesome riding all over the valley and state.

McDowell is just scratching the surface. And ties into the Sonoran McDowell Preserve for crazy climbing as well as up to Browns Ranch.

Hey thanks for the awesome info! We're going to be moving down there in about a year or less, if we can help it. But don't know exactly where to, yet. Researching airport communities, so if anyone has info on that, I'd be happy to hear it! Thanks!!

There's a fly in community up in cave creek by desert forest cc another one in Chandler. Scottsdale airport pretty big with tons of nearby housing options within 10-15 miles I'm sure there's other options but that's what comes to mind

Thanks, I've been noticing the riding seems to be abundant.

We just had an offer accepted on a house in the Cave Creek area...super chill community with lots of horse/hike/and bike trail options. Looks like our landing date is mid-November. Pretty...damn...happy.
