Don't move here. It's too fucking hot. The weather sucks. There are too many old people. It never rains. You just wouldn't like it here.

So I've been looking at this property near Wickenburg. What can you tell me about that area and the AZ real estate market in general. Not to sound like a vulture but I figure this would be a good retirement/recreational/investment opportunity. Alot of folks from here (Western Canada) spend the winters there and all you hear about is how the real estate market has practically collapsed and you can buy property for next to nothing. Whats the inside scoop?

screw you if you like those fucking parasitic trespassing fucks let em live at YOUR house, give em free everything (rent, food, housing, medicial, etc) and see how YOU like it, these bullshit handouts our goverment have given these fuckers have gone too far ... my parents came here fully LEGIT from south africa in 1979 so why the fuck cant these people do the same.:confused:

I absolutely love arizona for what they are doing to rid their state of these fucks, and fiends of mine who are Mexican and HAVE BEEN PROFILED as a result of what Arizona is doing have NO PROBLEM with whats going on, cause they hate the illegals too cause they are sick of being lumped in the same category as those fuckers who suck too much to get jobs in mexico (which has a better economy than here, only 5% unemployment) so they come here and do jobs americans "wont do" ... despite one of the major networks interviewing an illegal last year who wouldnt give his name cause he didnt want to get in trouble because he was a STATE WORKER ... last i checked there are plenty of american citizens who would kill for that job!

ive been trying to move to arizona on a serious note since 09, loved it ever since vacationing in havasu for the first time in 2004

I had an internship lined up to finish school but due to everything with the new law, they wanted to change my schools contract, and ANY modification to the contract then had to be reviewed by CSU, Chico's legal team which could have taken up to two years, so i wound up getting one here in my hometown, and unfortunately havent been able to find gainful employment other than temp work since then.

A close friend of mine currently lives in tempe and works for the Univ of phx as an academic advisor .... shes tried on and off to get me in over the years, and well see if the hiring freeze they currently have gets lifted. My friend seems to think i should just move down there and try and make something work, but thats a big gamble for me to take if people already down there are having difficulty getting jobs, furthermore being from California is a disadvantage because companies see that and are sick of seeing all of us flee to their nicer states then trying to turn said nicer state back into california.

I have been thinking about making the move to AZ. Very affordable compared to California! Been to Flagstaff and Glendale and really liked it. Great info and pics on this thread!

one thing to consider if you move to the phoenix valley, is your energy bill will be more than your rent in some cases in the summer months ... my friend keeps her house at 80 - 90 cause its still cooler than it being 110 outside and cant afford to pay much more than that.

TOTALLY not fuckin true bro. Cranking your A/C on a majority of the day, even in the hottest and most energy expensive month (August), will not push your energy bills beyond your rent or mortgage. Shit, it'd be rare if they hit 1/3 or a 1/4.

Also, this is sorta offset by the rest of the year (7.5 months) where you don't need A/C or Gas (for Heat).

Also, many buy ceiling fans to help cool the house. Not a big deal.

Nice write up on the state.

I moved here in 1978 then left for the Army. Came back in 1985 and stayed until 1996. Was in Fort Lauderdale FL until last month when I came back cause moms got cancer. Other than a 3 to 10 day visit over the past 14 + years I have not had the time to be here and see just how much it has grown. I think its a great place for the most part because of the diversity of whats available to do here.
