I wouldn't intentionally run them over, but most of the time they don't seem to be an issue.

Flag has plenty off roading areas - pretty much right in your backyard!

consider to stock up on your supplies going out in the desert for the day, before you know it you are 50 miles away on some dirt road in the res!

I'm seriously looking into buying 10+ acres at auction around Williams or Ash Fork and putting a pre-fab home on it for a zen vacation spot. How idiotic is this idea?

Really?? Hmmm.... I always think weirdos surround small towns. Like those people wanting to live off-the-grid and hide from the government. Cue banjos. That not the case around there? I've driven through those two towns a few times and love the area.

It's definitely small. And in some parts can be like that. Lol. It really is a nice place tho. Gets snow in winter, hot in the summers. lots of trails and forest. Decent sized town if you need anything.

I wish I would've read this before we went.... Just got back from a trip to Sedona!! I will say, that area is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!
View from the helicopter tour approaching Sedona airport.

You can't get that kind of scenery in PA. It was a pleasant change to see the 'red rocks'. We actually hiked halfway up Cathedral Rock, Visited Sunset Crater, drove along Loop Rd (north of Flagstaff) and saw the Painted desert (from a distance), hiked Oak Creek West Fork trail, hiked Bell Rock/Courthouse Butte trail, ate & drank some brews at the Oak Creek Brewing company grille/pub, and were totally awe-struck by the scenery.

Absolutely Beautiful!! If you haven't been to Sedona, I'd highly recomend it!!!

Good thread here! My wife and I are moving to AZ in a month, queen creek area. Sold our house and have been planning this move for over a year, we are so excited and counting the days!! 20 years in this incredibly wet damp climate has been too long for me. I look forward to doing outdoor activity more throughout the year. I will miss having the ocean surf so close as we primarily ride stand up jetskis, but 6 hours to Oside will have to work and riding flat water in warm water is the trade off! We're looking forward to all AZ has to offer in the offroad arena as well surounding states. It seems when talking or reading about AZ, most people like it. Not saying oregon sucks, its beautiful in its own way but 8 to 9 months of rain isnt for everyone. Anyway keep up the positive posts..

    Cheers!
