I got a job in the DTC and my gf is lookin at a job in aurora...if all goes as planned, we will be there by the end of summer. We can't really trust the reviews online of apartments since some seem to be angry tenants. I was just wondering if anyone on here lived in the area and could enlighten me on some apartments to completely avoid or some apartments to look at? Or maybe a trustworthy realtor that can assist us?

My budget seems to be around <$2000 per month and would prefer covered parking or has garages. Dog friendly is a must as well.

Hi, used to live at Buckley AB in Aurora. Aurora is not the best area to live in the Denver area. I would look in Centennial area.

You will and unfortunately you will be more restricted in Aurora and Denver than other cities. I would look elsewhere. I wouldn't live in Aurora even if they let me have all my guns but they don't and the crime rate is high. Some say those correlate but that's a conversation left for a political forum. I second the suggestion to check elsewhere and Centennial is certainly nice. If your budget is $2k per month for rent you'll find something decent in a decent neighborhood in a decent area. No sense looking for the cheapest possible if your budget is $2k.

13 cupholders for beer. All the Weathertechs.
Aurora is Denver's armpit. No, really. The way Denver county is drawn up on a map, it has an arm that extends NE to the airport. Aurora sits under that arm.

Also, much easier/simpler to obtain your CCW is a county that isn't named Denver or Aurora, as well.

Centennial has IKEA. And Swedish meatballs. One of those almost makes up for the other.

Depending on where in DTC your job is your area of hosing opens up quite a bit. And I would tell the gf to steer clear of A-town

My job will be located near the intersection of 225 and DTC blvd; and hers will be on the medical campus in Aurora.

I'm not too familiar with gun laws as in Missouri we hardly have any, but are there city laws that override the state laws? I was just told to make sure my 30rd mags were dated pre-2013.

    Lifted, Armored, needs more lights.
There are several (both Brand new & old) apartment complex's in DTC or just west of I25. Since she is I assume at Anschutz Medical Campus, I wouldn't go to far South (Centennial is just south of DTC) but that's your call plus the whole Park Meadows Mall and wife spending mula issue.

Look at Stapleton and Green Valley Ranch area as well. It will be a commute for you, but easy for the GF. Stapleton is very hip and geared towards all the hipsters moving here. Same with GVR, but a little further out by the airport.

I live in the Southlands area, which is a nice area, but stay away from shadow ridge (where i live) mismanagement is an understatement. I would look at renting a house down here. I'm personally moving up to the green valley ranch area (near the air port) as it's closer to my work (Buckley) and my wife's work.

If I could stay in Missouri, I would ...I'll be getting the same salary but dealing with higher cost of living.

It's all good dude. I'm just messing. The crew on here is pretty chill. Ski forum I'm on people would be talking shit. A lot of natives can be xenophobic to transplants, but the cat's out of the bag! I'm not a native either so I have no room to tell you what to do :) I have noticed the growth over 10 years though. But I'll make a pretty penny when I sell my house and head for the hills so I can't complain!
Aurora sucks, avoid at all costs! A lot of people like Parker if you're looking for suburbs. I've lived in NW Denver since I've been here and I love it but probably not feasible for you.
