It looks like I will be moving to the LA area in a couple months. If I get the area I want I will be working in Torrance. I was thinking about living in the Hermosa Beach, area, anyone know anything or have any suggestions about any areas around there?

I have not been to that area in years so maybe I should keep my pie hole shut, but as I remember it there are good areas, $$$$$$ and the rest that can be on the shady side. Unless you have the $$$$$$$ you might want to move inland a bit. Again, it has been a long time for me.

im in the Carson/Torrance area on weekends...

Hermosa Beach is a cool area to live... Redondo Beach seems cool too...

western side of Torrance is decent, but east of Western Avenue isn't so hot...

southwest of Torrance is Rolling Hills and Palos Verdes which are decent too but might be a bit pricey...

manhattan beach is nice too... avoid Lawndale and Gardena... they are blah... haha

    What Mike said x3
Redondo, Hermosa, Venice, and Manhattan are nice beach side neighbor hoods depending on where you stay, and Santa Monica is a really beautiful area as well. All a little on the spendy side, but worth it ... I don't know much about inland LA, then again, I never really hung out there. All I know is that the nicer area's are all going to be more expensive, so if you think you've found a really "good deal" do a lot of research on the area! Good luck!
