Has anyone gone thru the Visa process of getting working in the states?

I live in Vancouver BC and I've got a B.Comm with 15 years of Accounting and ERP management experience, and my wife is an RN with about 10 years experience.

We're making ends meet here, but barely and we're really looking at moving to a more affordable decent paying area, and we keep getting drawn to Texas. DFW particularly...

From what I'm seeing the wages are good, cost of living is affordable (not cheap, but much much better than we're used to).

It's a 1-2 year plan but I'm thinking the first step is landing work and entering on a H1B and going from there, possibly having my family follow me after things have settled.

    Any tips/experiences would be appreciated.
