I owned "ONE" F150 and it was the biggest mistake I ever made... It was like going out with the prom queen who everyone talked about as the best thing sense sliced cheese! Yet once you had her you kept asking your self what's all the hype about? Why does everyone love this girl who always needs to be pampered just to stay going?.... Not the Tundra, it out pulls, out lives the turd of F150 and will never let you down...The crew max Tundra is the best bang for your buck!.... Oh and yes I love my Toyotas:smack::cheers:

I have a buddy with a 15 eco boost and it's been in the shop a lot. Mostly small stuff like loss of dash lights, no A/c, heater fan stuck on high, and a transmission issue that he's working on now. Once it's fixed he's getting rid of it for a tundra.

lol fanboys. I've worked for both Ford and Toyota. I've driven tons of both, with all sorts of varying mileage. I've seen enough and worked on enough of both Toyota and Ford to make a solid decision.

This picture I took at work of a 2007 tundra solidifies my decision, especially when his entire drivetrain was original.

I'll never say any vehicle or brand is problem free, but I've seen the issues on Tundras first hand all day long at work, and I've seen how Toyota corporate handles them. I've also seen things on the Ford side.

    Stock for now
    I owned two tundras
    A 2004 DC (old crew cab four full doors) 4.7 V8 4x4
    A 2011 DC (not the crewcab) 4.6L V8 4x4
The mileage in both the trucks were the same as my V6 tacomas (2006 & 2013)
Very roomy, smooth. Towed nice. Beds were very large, lots of creature comforts
Pricing at that time (2011) wasn't much different than a Tacoma (sub 30s end of model year)
The newer 2011 Tundra with the 4.6 shifted a lot (it did have a tow/haul mode)
I went back to a Tacoma only because my dog (don't laugh) had anxiety in it.
Also the 4.6 mpg was only slightly better than the 5.7
No problems with either truck, I loved the 2004.
    Good luck

So 4mpg is why the tundra get condemned? My sequoia has the 4.6 and gets 17 on a regular basis. I left gm for life... I can get ford employee discount, and I drive........ Toyotas

In my experience the 2013 F150 3.5 ecoboost we have has been a good truck 30K on the odometer no problems. Great highway cruiser and tows great! Can not beat the back room space for three teenagers. It is my wifes DD and our go to family car. I hate parking it. That is the nature of a long wheel base on the crew cab with standard bed... gives a great ride but turns like a ship. We hit a special deal from Ford so we have the 100K warranty. I personally would love to put a tuner on it and electric exhaust cut out but the wife so no frig-gin way. As mentioned drive the models your self but we have no regrets with this purchase.

My 2009 has 80k on the clock. I had to take it in to the dealer 1 time... I had to get a new key programmed.

Then what experience do you have with Tundras or F150's that brought you into this thread an compelled you to comment?

What cam issues do you speak of?

And also, why would you expect anything other than fanboys on a site dedicated to a brand and model of pick up?
Additionally, does that automatically bar anyone of being able to make an informed, intelligent decision just because they are a member of a site which contains fans?

I have a 2014 super crew 3.5 ecoboost and hands down, the best vehicle I have owned. No issues with 40K on the clock other than needing a resurfacing on the brake rotors to smooth out some pulsating (Massachusetts traffic tends to do that quickly).

I test drove the F150 prior to buying my Taco.... It's nice I guess> but damn I can see serious frustration finding parking spots. Anyone else notice the newer shopping plazas seem to assume we all drive Fiats.... My Taco barely fits in some spots; sans knowing the jackass in the old Aries K car will smack the shit out of my doors. eh... I digress... buy what works for you and someone said drive them all first... That would be anyone's real advice.

you're talking to a guy who has owned nothing but chevy's prior to my tacoma. I've owned 4 silverados and countless gm cars. I've owned over 40 vehicles total in my lifetime, simply from getting bored and buying and trading constantly. I think this is simply a situation of two individuals having their minds made up.

    good day to you.

Ford seems like you either get a great vehicle or a lemon. Not saying there aren't bad Toyotas or any brand for that matter. I purposely bought a 2015 tacoto avoid the new model gremlins of a 2016. Most of my family works for ford. Ironically they all have at least one Toyota or honda in their fleet. Toyota has been way better to me than gm, and they earned their spot in my garage. Resale desirability alone would bring home a tundra.
