Love Matt's work, I had been checking out his knives for a bit, and finally decided to pick up two. They took a little longer than expected, however I've never had anything custom or handmade finished early by anyone. Matt was great to deal with, and easy to talk to despite my endless questions. He somehow always manages to respond to me emails within a very short amount of time, despite working his ass off hammering out awesome blades. Between all the moving, and extra stuff going on- I feel Matt was more than reasonable with timing. Shipping was super fast! I will be doing business with him again for sure.
Here are some quick shots. Can't wait to hit the woods with these!

10'' cleaver, It's not as big as I thought it would be. This feels like it will be a killer chopper!

Did some fuzz, still need to get used to it. But I think these are going to be pretty good at it.

They are invisible, lol they actually don't come with sheaths. My experience with custom knife purchases, is that some will give you a sheath and some wont. Some of those sheaths are super nice, other ones a pos.

you going to have sheaths made?

i have never bought a custom blade. surprising that most dont come with sheaths. crazy. imho, a blade is useless without one.

if you find a great sheath maker, let me know. i have a butcher knife i leave in my truck..paid $5 for it at an antique show. it is my beater butcher blade i use when i am lucky enough to have a dead animal down, next to my truck.

It surprised me as well, maybe they just want to keep working on blades. Sheath in itself is also an art for the real nice ones. I've purchased universal fit sheaths in the past and hated them. I've been making sheath out of PVC for my recent knives that don't come with one. I want a leather sheath, so I will save up for the tools and material to make it. Always feels better when you can make your own things.

Don't know any good leather sheath makers yet, but for kydex, check out godspeedtactical.

Good ol' PVC from Lowes or Home Depot.

Made a sheath out of PVC until I can save up for the tools and materials to make leather sheaths.
    Came out not so bad.
