When I drove up north I averaged about 24.5 mpg going up about 22.5 coming back from my trip I drove about 600 both ways 1200 mile all together and Average about 23.5 all the way around not bad but 25 miles per gallon for about 100 miles until I hit road construction then it drops

My final tank average is typically between 21 and 23 depending on how I drive. I can go 75 and still get 23mpg as long as it isn't too windy. Key is to keep the truck from downshifting, even if it means slowing down a few mph going up overpasses and speeding back up on the other side. Not sure I could get the same milage in hillier area.

    Fact.
I got 26.2 on a flat I99 trip from Fresno to Sacramento at 75mph in cruise control.
    I get 20 to 22 around town.

Last fill up: 243.5 mi/15.05 gallons = 16.1. This is the first time the calculation was more than 0.2 than the DIC which registered 16.8.

Last month drove from Wisconsin to East TN and back cruising at 75mph for the majority of the trip and averaged 21 mpg.

    If I keep it at 65-70 I do 24mpg, 75-85 22mpg.
    QUESTION HERE.
What is the furthest anyone has driven after the low fuel signal tells ya U have zero miles to go to EMPTY?

I've gone about 40 miles and still didn't get 20 gallons upon fill-up.

    So. Many. Stickers.
It's not a good idea regardless for two reasons.

One your fuel pump dries out when it doesn't have sufficient lubrication from the fuel it's pulling through. Do this enough and you'll actually cause issues. Given the fact that these trucks had a fuel pump recall, it's not a good idea.

Two. The more air in your tank, the more the gas sloshes around the more it evaporates.

Did the best I’ve ever done over a single tank yesterday.

23.4 mpg in a stick 3rd gen over a 280 mile drive. Crossed a mountain range twice, too, so I have no idea how this happened. Haha

Depends how hard you work at it…keeping under 60mph, accelerate a bit on the downhill and let off a bit on the uphills, working for it I’ve seen 29mpg. Driving like I intend to get where I’m going…19-21 hwy, 15 around town.

my time is more valuable than a few gallons of fuel…so I don’t care.

I typically get between 21 to 24mpg combined driving. If I mostly do city driving I average around 18mpg. The key is don't stomp on the pedal at take-off and coast to stops.
