Would the mpg be impacted at all when going from 245/75/16 to 265/65/17?

What about new speedometer and dash calibration, significant enough to try and get the dealer to readjust it?

I mean you'll have a difference going to a bigger tire yes, but depending on what load range that makes a big difference too.

I had 265/70r16 tires stock on my OR then I got 265/75r16 tires thinking it wouldn't be that much of a difference. However, my new tires are load range E, which are stronger but also heavier. Each tire weighs 68lbs according to the google machine.

I was getting a good solid 18mpg on my OR AT but after tires and this darn winter blend I'm sitting pretty at 14.4

Those tires are both 30.5". No impact to Speedo.

Only change is tire width and rim weight from 16" to 17".

    So basically a non issue.

I was getting 18-21 with my 265/65/17 rugged terrains, I have the V6 auto. I’ve since lost 5mpg going to 285/75r16s... so it’s going to change, how much is the unknown.

Which tires did you get? I'm sorry, but there's no way each one weighs 68lbs. That's about what 35" tires weigh

Toyo Open Country MT. The number didn't seem right either but found it on a few sites.

    Seems should be 58lbs.

I went up 1 size from stock 265-65-17 to 265-70-17. Stock Bridgestone to Cooper ATW's which were 5 lbs more per tire. Lost ~1 MPG.

Thanks for the advice guys. I went ahead and swapped the wheels and tires(With another member), no noticeable change in mpg but I also wasn't able to test it out accurately due to the snow and different driving conditions.

I see, that's great! I was a bit afraid due to being a noob when it comes to upgrading wheels/tires and their effect on the tacoma. Funnily enough the Tacoma I traded with was also a silver one:D
