    Just curious:

Will i see a significant loss (over 1-2mpg) of gas mileage if I upgrade from my stock 16" steelies with the stock 245/xx/16 dunflops, to 17" FJ alloys and 265/70/17 Nitto terra grapplers?

Or do you suggest a different tire for my DD/weekend wheelin Taco that is a good compromise between off road performance and DD performance?

Well, I have an 06 Double Cab TRD (v-6) I went from a 265/65/17 to a 255/75/17 Mud Terrain and lost about 4 mpg. At least that is what I have figured up. I think I am going to go back to a size closer to the original.

thanks for the info. I am now debating selling my 17" FJ wheels and keeping my 16" steelies or looking for a different set of 16" steelies because of MPG reasons. Or should i not worry if I am going to run 265s either way

well the alloys are supposed to be stronger, but the steel you can pound back into shape. so i am at a crossroads. any offers on the FJ wheels to make my decision easier :p

Don't know how it will be with a 4 cyl, but I went from 245/65/16 dunlops on steel wheels and I was getting 18-19mpg, to Nitto 265/70/17 on MotoMetals and I got 17-18mpg with a V6.
I added a K&N filter and I'm about to hit 20k miles, I'm getting 18-19mpg again with the same driving.
