Just read about the new Tacoma. Any idea what we might see for MPG numbers? For me, even with cheap gas currently, this is the most important thing for me because I tend to drive at least 20k a year and I am guessing gas won't stay cheap forever.

Save yourself now while you can and don't look back. Your first post is troll food - and they are hungry.

Oh, and 20 city/25 hwy, SWAG.

Did I read somewhere that it should be 20% improved fuel economy?

20/25 isn't too bad. I wouldn't buy a full sized, but I believe the F-150 has better fuel economy than that. It's close enough for me, I'd still go with a Taco.

I just needed a ballpark estimate and I think I got it. I'm a noob and all. Never owned a Taco. Maybe in a year or two.

I think 18 city 24 hwy using the lexus engine..... So going to the 3.5 will help mpg, power?????
    currently getting 18 - 25 on the RX350 FWD, 18 - 24 AWD

If mpg improves by 20% you'll save what? $700 a year? Does it make sense to spend $10,000 to upgrade? Return on investment is probably far longer than the amount of time you'll own the truck.

check the real world numbers on the F150 and you will be surprised. My Tacoma gets very close to the EPA sticker on my daily commute which is hwy at 60-75 mph. The people that tell the truth on the F150 with eco will tell you 18-19. Problem with the turbos is if you do not just lay off and drive totally like a granny they will kill the MPGs. Most people cannot drive that way with the eco. Why would you pay the extra bucks for it and not use it.

I do not think it will be anything close to 25 for the v6 or Toyota would be beating their drum over it and that would have been a big selling point on the roll out.....

the fact it sucks like it does now it is better to polish a turd and sell on name......

Since we have nothing to base it on, I estimate 95mpg city and 100mpg highway

MPG still depends on use. Just read an article on the 1/2 ton Dodge Diesel with a 19ft. Lance Trailer.....truck is rated at 28mpg hwy....got about 10.5 pulling the trailer! My Tundra gets 10 pulling an FJ40 on a trailer (like pulling a barn door) so it just shows the mpg wars are based on 55mph flat ground tailgate down and maybe a tail wind. My G35 Infiniti is the only vehicle I have owned that actually got the rated MPG plus some...it was rated 19-24 and got 23-24 in mixed driving with a fair amount of right foot.

The current gen taco returns 18MPG combined, where the 2.7 ecoboost is 20MPG combined and the 3.7 is 19MPG combined. I believe the 2016 will beat the 2.7, i'm guessing 21 or 22MPG combined.

the numbers for the 3.5 eco are
BS so what makes you think the 2.7 will not be. The EPA numbers for the ecoboost are not worth crap
