I think your missing the nuances of how exhaust and intake affects your engine. Generally, the biggest changes are not adding or subtracting MPG's or power but changing where your engine is more efficient in the power band.

I’d like to hit the magic 300Hp and another good 30ft pounds of torque.

Anyway way to do this without shortening engine life or dealing with CA smog?

I want to lift 4-6” and get 33”’s with a little more width ( you know the look I’m going for) but I’ve heard the mpg will drop 3-4 mpg and a little sluggish. I can take a hit one or the other but I don’t want slower and worse gas. Gas is a given so I think that why we/me are on the hunt for more muscle

Agreed. Of course we all want great take off and low mpg at freeway. I know ours is at the 6,800 I believe?

Your max efficiency is generally where your torque maxes out. Def not 6800 RPM's, thats where efficiency is so low that even though you are increasing RPM's, the drop in torque causes a net loss of HP. Basically the worst.

For those that think Torque > HP or vice versa, thats not how it works HP = Torque * RMP / 5252. In very simple laymen terms, HP is a measurement of how many times your "torque" in a given amount of time and neither are comparable. HP is always going to be the acceleration "x factor". And before you say it, more low end Torque = more low end Horse Power.

Everyone wants 400 hp, the look of a King of Hammers winner, it last forever, the luxury of a Cadillac interior, 30 mpg and they only want to pay $20K.

    Seriously.

No. Read the link in my signature for explanation about this truck and torque and horsepower.

Your peak torque is generally where your engine is at peak efficiency. However, how that translates to efficient driving depends on speed and drag those rpms.

Some of us do not give a fuck how fast our utility pickups take off at. Because it’s a utility pickup.

You must be new to them. Like the other “100’s” of newb ex Mitsubishi Eclipse owners.

    Two observations:
    1. Many people are not happy. They change stuff thinking it will make them happy. Then they are still unhappy.
    2. Many people don't pay any attention or else they would have identified this glaring problem on their test drive.

    My opinion.
