For it to not consume as much fuel as an F250

Another thing to check is for exhaust manifold cracks.

Just feel like it’s not getting good mpg the 4 cylinder I hear is just a gas consumption 3rz motor. My truck runs good it does have a little bit of vibration to it which it’s always had. Motor rebuilt at 290k I’m now at 325k and still has the power of course. Have no prob getting up in speed it will do fine. But I’ve been watching my mpg and it was 17 on the ultra gauge but I reset it and now saying 16 almost 15.9 so I’m trying to see if I can try and do something to get it a little higher

That's pretty spiffy. And while we are on NOT on the topic of MPG in the 2.7L Tacoma, I do 90 in my F150 on the interstate and it still gets 20 MPG and feels like I'm holding it back.

Yeah I hear ya. It's hard to do over the interwebs. I got my old blazer from 13 to 18 by replacing a cracked exhaust manifold. Does anything seem out of place? What kind of spark plugs? Air filter?

No everything seems fine. How do you find a crack in the manifold if it’s a small one?

With the OVTune 93 performance doing 80 isnt bad, especially with ECT on, but its nothing like a V8.

You've discovered the naturally-aspirated V6 conundrum, as have I from owning a 2nd gen: 4 cylinder power, 8 cylinder fuel economy.

Try driving with the ECT button on the whole time. I couldn't tell you why, but I did verify this multiple times, with ECT engaged I average right close to 20-21 mpg. With ECT disengaged I get 19ish.
This button turned on simply means the computer is telling the transmission to shift later, at a higher RPM. And that's what it does, and in the process my mpg goes up.
I don't drive fast, I'm drive pretty conservatively.
I want you to try it and see if the mpg goes up. I need someone else to verify and confirm the same results I saw/see :D
