I'm deciding on tire options tomorrow. 285/70/16 or 265/75/16. I'm sure not too many people are running these sizes yet, but...

Anyone have estimates on mileage decreases that are running the 285 or 265?

    Thanks!

If you're worried about mileage at all, I wouldn't do it.

Don't put larger tires on a truck if you're an MPG weeny.

The biggest mpg hit I took was swapping the stock P265 65r17 highway tire for LT265 70r17 C load BFG ATKO. I am currently running 285's. Want best possible MPG's?, I too say keep it stock. The Tacoma is a pig.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I'm not concerned with what the mileage hits will be cost wise.

I'm more looking at tank range hits as I work way out in the woods. Also curious how the new 3.5 handles the added size and rotational mass.

bunch of stuff - Bro Pro style

~350 miles - I drive pretty hard with STOCK tires getting right around 16mpg with M/T. I have to drive like a complete greytop old biddy to get close to 18mpg so far anyways. You can always configure your truck with carry cans for extra fuel. They make all kinds of cool stuff like that for the Tacoma.
