I recently bought a 2016 SR5. 4cyl automatic. Using it for a work truck, for the fantastic mpg im getting. im getting around 23-25. Looking to possibly lift it with larger tires, but also don't wanna kill my mpg and what little bit of 160 horses I have. Lol. wondering if anyone done this to a 4cyl model??? if so the advice would be helpful, Thanks!!!

I drove 4 cylinder Toyota for 20 years. The trick is staying with a tire that is as light as possible. You will take a mpg hit but it won't be as bad. I always ran 265 75 16s in a LOAD RANGE C. Going to an E on a 4 cylinder will kill milage. Try and find a tire that stays sun 48 pounds and you should not see more than a 1 or 2 hit to mpg.

I got 23/24 average with a high tank MPG of 28.

After a mild lift and mild tire upgrade (P265/75/16 Hankook Dynapro ATM and now a P265/75/16 Cooper ATP) I dropped to 17.5-18.5 average MPG and I can't hit 20 MPG on the same trip that got me 28 MPG in stock form.

If you're in love with your current mileage, keep it stock.

Are your tires load range c or even?
On my 2007 with 2657516 Duratracs in a C I got around 20 to 21. I made the mistake of putting ko2s in an English at one point and my mileage dropped to 15. I quickly sold them and went back to the c rated Duratracs and mileage came back up to 20 imediately. This truck had a mild 1.5 inch lift.

That's a 20% loss on my average tank and 30%+ loss on my best tank.

Truck looks good, but the 2.7 doesn't handle lift and tires very well. My P rated tires are just over 40 lbs each, and are a mild all terrain. Certainly not overly heavy or overly aggressive.

Nope. Always have had P rated on this truck and I watch tire weight, but make sure I'm not getting a highway tire - but a mild all terrain.

    Alloy wheels, also.

First lift was 1.75 and 2 in the rear. Current is 2.25 and 2.75 rear and had no additional loss of MPG with the different lifts. Tire sizes stayed the same on both lifts.

Interesting. Mine was an access cab so maybe that had something to do with it. It is a bit lighter.
