    Stock and staying that way
I get the best results letting it lose a bit of speed going up a hill, making it up on the downhill, but you have to pay attention to your mirrors so as not to cause anyone else frustration.

All of you automatic transmission guys........
    Manual has lower rear-end gear.
My ECO app average shows 16.3MPG per tank full.
I get much better mileage if I suck it up and drive surface streets (45MPH max) to work and back.
75MPH on freeway kills my gas mileage.
Cant wait to take my first Interstate trip to Cali to see mileage.

My 2004 Tundra got pretty much the same MPG no matter how I drove it. Yes it it a little better at 55 mph on a highway. I tried driving it like an old lady back and forth to work and it didn't help.

I'm a physics teacher so just curious. Not trying to bust your balls. How did you arrive at it being a cubic relationship between velocity and power with an increase in velocity?

I don't get it. OPs first ever car/truck? OP never paid attention before? Yes OP, when you drive slower you get better MPG, this is why the national speed limit used to be 55.

I try to keep my speed in the 90 - 100 mph range. MPGs dip a little, but I can get where I'm going sooner, shut the engine down and stop burning gas...

We 2.7 MT guys got the 3:90s with the 5 speed. I get 21MPG(tank avg hand calculated) on trips where I spent considerable time at 75mph.

Yep. When I average 70-75 on the hwy I'll get exactly the same.

60-65 I can see up to 26MPG (in ideal weather conditions) depending how well I hypermile, but those days are likely over now that I know what it can do. I'll always drive like an old man, but I'm done with hypermiling unless fuel prices go through the roof again.

Yeah, that's all good and relevant but did you hear that 96 4 runners get better mileage?

J/k lol. My best tank has been near 22mpg so far. Mostly curvy hilly roads at 45-65mph. I may try one of the reusable air filters to see if it helps. Any info on before/after mileage on those with no other mods?
