Until the actual math is done when you fill-up, you won't know if this is so. I haven't seen much better than 23 mpg, and change yet with my stock sr5 v6 at those speeds.
As far as the weather, you'll always do better in the summer. I get my best mileage when its 70 degrees plus.

    Oh look, another mod....
You should move to Texas, it's always hotter than 70 degrees plus. That must be why my truck can easily average 20+ MPG for the entire tank!

Oh, a strong head wind will KILL the MPG's. While driving home today there was one (We have heavy storms and a cold front coming in), and I got 15.9 MPG during my commute home. I have NEVER had it dip that low.

I have the same phenomenon. My SR 4 banger used to give me 21 to 21.5 mpg in the winter time. It improved to 23 to 24 in the last couple of fills. I thought for a while the digital was lying, but when I filled it up and worked on the math, it was darn close to what the digital was saying. It must be the hot weather that gives me a better mileage. I drive in the city only with lights and road turns. I don’t rush to the light, but I usually rev it up after the light to make it shift to a smoother gear. That may help to improve fuel efficiency. Other than that, I am happy what the SR is giving me for mileage.

It can be -10 in the winter to nearly 100 degrees by mid july here. We can get some crazy high winds, and storms to. Biggest issue is protecting the truck from a sudden hail storm.

Do actual math over several full tanks.

Report back how close the dash display was.

Summer gas has higher btus so more energy. Warmer air less dense. Tire pressure doesn't drop as much in warm weather.

There was no winter-summer gas switch this year so that couldn't be contributing

I run a scan gauge and it's pretty damn accurate and yeah fantastic instant mileage but at the end of day the scan gauge and the fill up math are all most a perfectly match and it a hell of a lot closer 20 MPG!

My mpg will increase if I use non ethanol gas and drive about 60

I gain 2+/- mpg by driving 69-72 mph instead of 77-78 mph. The V6 seems to have a sweet spot it likes at the lower speed.

It's pretty much all wind resistance causing that. I think in a vehicle wind resistance closely follows the cube law in relation to speed. So a 5 mph increase from 75 to 80 is going to cost you more than a 5 mph increase from 70 to 75.

How much? Is it worth it in the long run with the price difference?

This and less.time warming up. I've noticed how much a load affects mileage by mid winter I'm driving.around with a pretty dense block.of snow in back.
V6 2019 sr, don't understand people, in past threads, who say its a dog. Pulling.out into traffic I have to be careful to not spin the tires.

VT has a unique law that allows passing on a double line if certain criteria are met. 40-80mph no time flat.
I've clearly taught my Tacoma.well. Don't get the whining.

you didn’t get 33 mpg. As some have said check it over a full tank of gas recording your mileage at each fill.
Have no idea of what caused your indicate mileage anomaly. Expect low 20s with your truck in good conditions.

I don't think I could get that kind of mileage if I coasted down hill all the time.

When Covid first hit and the cops were staying home too I was getting 12 when I'm normally in the 15.5 range. Trip to work was a little more fun though.

Oddly enough, my TRD sport with the V6 gets better mileage with the AC on when on the highway. It drives much nicer with more lower end power on the highway which allows it to not shift gears is my guess as why. Must be something in the Toyota engine computer that allows more power when under more accessory load or something.
