I get about 17 city or hwy. w/ 265/70/16's corrected from my stock 31x10.50x15 size. That's on a 2000 v6 powered ex.cab 4x4. can get 18-19 if I drive slow all in town or @ 55 on the hwy. i lost about a MPG when I went to AT's from Long Trails but don't get stuck as often.

this winter i switched from M/T to A/T & i averaged 260 miles (when the gas light came on: 15.5 gallons) which was i would get in the summer with the M/Ts so i hope to see a little improvement since its warming up down here. the A/T's are also about 10lbs lighter a tire than the M/T. i also have a gutted CAT and a flowmaster and i heard that can drop the mpg a little

Check the sig. Tires are a little on the aggressive side though. Hoping to pickup a couple mpgs with a tune up.

getting right about 20 mpg with 265/75/16 Hankook DynaPro ATM's.

My odometer usually shows around 260-275 miles when I fill up, but if you increase tire size you have to use a multiplier to find actual miles driven and MPG (based on the OME tire size).

My multiplier is 1.12, so I'm actually getting about 290-310 miles on a tank.

Mine did too... well at least the figures went down! The speedometer reads accurately now (with the 265/70-16s it read about 3 mph too fast).

So, I guess with the Rugged Trails the mileage we been posting was a bit too high (mine ranged from 16-19 mpg) and now with the 265-75/16s the mileage is correct and the Tacoma gets closer to 15-18 city/highway?

I just had my BFG A/T 265/75/16s installed yesterday with a fresh tank of gas. I usually hit half a tank at 150 miles and need a fill up at 260 or so. Right now I am at a half a tank at about 120. As it looks right now this might be a long run with gas getting to be $3.30 a gallon

I have newer tires (265/75/16) with about 40k on the odometer, I have noticed a drop in mpg. Right now i get around 15/16mpg. I used to get 18/19 with stock tires. The best was 21 when i was following a co-worker for a few hours at 55mph tops. I dont know where they come up with the mpg on the window sticker. I would have bought a v8 for the mileage.

These trucks are notorious for getting terrible gas mileage. I got the 265/75/16 KO's on my truck, and the best i've ever gotten is 18.8. So like someone else posted here, i'm thankful mine is paid for. I have friends with full size Ford's and Chevy's that get better gas mileage than me. But i still wouldn't give up my Toyota for one!:D

Right, so we pay more for gas compared to other trucks... but ours never break down and take us where we want to go!

Do all you guys take into consideration the bigger tire size when you calculate your MPG? You are actually driving further than your odometer says if you have bigger than stock tires.

yeah I also checked it with my gps trip log. There is a little difference but i am basically getting 240 miles on a full tank. Before i got the slightly larger tires my truck's speedometer never matched my gps. Now my truck agree's with my gps speed. And yes the gps is used in other cars and trucks so i know that's pretty close to being right on.

The original tire size on my '97 Tacoma was 225/75/15. That's quite a bit smaller than 265/75/16. What was your original tire size?

For us with the Off Road TRD that came with 265/70-16s, the speedometer read too fast... (read 63 when we were GPS'd doing 60) With the /75 tires, the speedometer is now 'right-on' and my mileage has 'dropped' to a lower figure (15 mpg today's fillup) when on the /70 tires I would have at least 16 mpg for the type of driving I did this week.
