What is everyone getting with there 2nd gen 2.7l tacos with 285s?

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that the step before 33's?

Also can I have y'all's opinions on how big of a lift and tires you can go with on a 4clinder tacoma without KILLING the good fuel economy they are know for?

    I don't think 2nd gen 4cyls get that good of MPG unless it's a 5 lug.

    33's are 285 unless I'm mistaken.

A 285 measures about 32.8" depending on the brand and tread style. I have 265's that mmeasure just a hair under 32" and there a m/t on my four cylinder with a five speed and I still get about 20-22 in the summer and about 19 in winter. I have a 3 inch lift and plan to go to 285's the next time I need tires.

moving to 285's means alot of extra rotating weight. and at that width its harder to find a P rated tire... most are load range E super heavy things... the 4cyl will be a dog with them on it.

Best thing to do its keep it stock if you want mpg. Think I'm running about 10 mpg as we speak
