I tried to keep track when I first got my truck but I'm just too lazy, lol. Overall I feel like it does pretty well for what it is. However, I recently added a tonneau cover and I am a bit curious as to what impact that had on my fuel economy. Probably not a huge impact for city driving but I"m sure it helped on my recent trip from NC to FL and back

when i fill up, i fill it always to the top...almost spilling out......then do the calculations.....mine is within +/- .3 mpg that is indicated on the computer.....my BMW motorcycle computer is also within +/- .4 mpg......when i was flying airplanes in the Marine Coprs (A-4, A-6, F-4, F-14, C-12 and OV-10, the fuel consumption and use were dead on and I cannot understand why most vehicle manufactures cannot get it right......with todays technology, theres no excuse

I have a 2017 TRD Off Road 4x4 Double cab with just under 4000 miles on her..

Last 3 tanks have been 14-15 MPG max. This is pretty Terrible. Mixed city /highway in and around philly and mostly the suburbs where I live, and yes it has been cold as all hell recently here, and winter blend fuel but still terrible for a frickin V-6! I even filled up with 93 octane last tank just to see and no real difference.

My old 2014 Hemi Ram 1500 CC 4x4 bighorn would average just under this and I would beat the heck out of that truck daily (I don’t beat on the Taco) plus it had 395hp??

Yes, I’ll admit in the summer I was able to average my best tank at 18 miles per gallon displayed on the computer, but since then it’s got nothing but worse.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my truck but the mpg sucks for a v-6... I have kept every single receipt and did the actual math on every Fillup on displayed vs calculated mpg, so I do need to consolidate those and find out what I actually am getting since I bought it..

I don't get it either although I do a bit better than that. My 95% city driving is getting me around 14.5 mpg here lately after my 265 70 17 ko2 swap. DCSB 4X4.

I made the same threads about my manual transmission and fuel economy.

I don't know if it was break in or because I changed my CPS. However, at 12K my mileage is bang on with the EPA numbers.

    furthermore.

On flat highway at 65mph, I got 20-21.5 MPG average. With a tonneau cover I now get 21-23 average on highway.

If I granny shift during the city driving and skip 3rd gear, I get around 18-19 MPG if there is no traffic.

I have made multiple threads about my MPG.

Long term fuel tracking and statistics.

Members shouldn't post low mileage and compare that to others who are getting better result. There are so many varribles such as modification, altitude, driving habits and temperature to name a few. Some member report average MPG and other report highway. We should just report the best MPG that we can achieve on flat ground, no headwind, speed between 50-60 and a temperature around 70. The best I've seen was 26mpg with the above conditions over 40 mile range on a new stock truck M6 4X4 (3k) with a hard tonneau cover.

So what's the best mileage other have seen?

You must have been driving under incredibly favourable conditions to get 34mpg.

Lol 34mpg? Half the drive must be rolling down hill.

I have a OR4x4 LB with leer topper, oem roof rack, KO2 265/75r16 and ECT always on with a mix of about 70% city 30% highway.

Seems like 16.5 is my new average with my current setup. Full highway mileage the computer shows around 20mpg on long trips.

Yes but what is your best mpg? A mix of city and highway is impossible to compare. Also did you account for the difference in your tire size. Your larger than stock tire size will report a lower mpg.

No adjustment for tire size and have yet to get a full highway run. Ive done about 200 miles and the computer gives me around 20-21 with my current set up.

So you actually get better than 21mpg. Probably around 23-24mpg.
