I am thinking about getting a 01-04 tacoma. My questions is what are the Mpg's for an extended cab 2.4 and mpg's for a 01-04 extended cab 3.4 4wd taco. I have heard 30+ for the 2.4's and 20-21 for the 3.4's with the 4wd?

    SAS.. Need I say more.
30+ maybe only if it's the 2wd... When my 2.7l was stock (auto 4wd) Best I ever got was 22 mpg. ONCE.

I am only wanting to get a truck for a daily driver. I would get a single cab, but no room for my legs lol. plus I can store stuff in the back of the extended cab. now once I pay off whatever truck I get, then I might get a 2.7 liter 4wd :)

    04 3.4L auto 4x4 and i get ~17 mpg mixed.

but i am supercharged (and drive like it is!) and am turning heavy 285/75r16 tires.

when i purchased it (stock), i would get 18-19 mpg mixed.

We need more of these threads! :D

I get 20-22.X on the highway with my stock-tired, 4x4, 5-speed, manual hubbed, extended cab, 250k mile 2.7 on 87 octane at 4500+ feet.
The truck only weighs 35XXlbs with 1/2 tank. If I drove respectably I could probably get mid 23's with no wind or big hills.

I just drove from Colorado to Arizona on Fri, I got 14.5 MPG for the first tank (a lot of steep climbs) and 16 MPG for the next two tanks. I was running the AC and cruz the whole way.

    01 2.7L 5 speed XCab 4WD with no mods. 21-22 MPG, about 80% highway at 75-80 mph. I don't think that's bad considering how I drive it.

Stock, I was getting 21 mpg at 65 mph. Now that the truck is lifted w/ 32" tires, I'm getting 18 mpg at 65 mph.
