Far as I can remember it’s been like that in southern ‘Berta. Used to put up snow fences to catch the dirt.

Saw lightnin’ hit a barbed wire fence once just loaded with tumbleweed. Burnt so fast it was like a strip of napalm.

Now that would be an awesome sight. Drove across Montana twice in Summer 2002. We sat and watched lighting strikes for as far as the eye could see for a solid hour. Still one of the coolest spectacles I've seen...etched in my mind forever.

Had quite a few close calls myself. When the hair starts pointin’ straight up on your arms you know it’s time to take cover. Problem is sometimes there ain’t any.

yeah...was pretty dry around here up until last sunday and when the wind kicked up all of the top soil from the wheat/potato fields in the valley lost a wee bit of top soil. got about a foot of snow in the last week so i think we're good for a while.

you like lightning? i'm good at finding lightning....usually when i'm in my roof top tent and not wanting it anywhere near me. one storm was so close and so intense that the thunder was hitting about the same time as the flashes. hair on my arms stood on end for an hour or so from the static.

:eek:No...I don't mind watching it from a distance from a secure environment. I'll pass on the sleeping in a virtual lighting rod in the middle of it.

... bit too adventurous for this old mooseman.
