This happened 2 weeks ago now.
    https://youtu.be/Ubz58lXXSWE?si=HItj7lToU9nGiHCR

190 homes i think it is were lost. The fire dropped brands out of the wind driven smoke cloud onto the opposite side of the lake starting another 3 fires. My role, after helping friends move a bunch of stuff out of their home (which survived) was to evacuate folks. Our small team of 6 SAR and 2 RCMP got cut off by the fire in one direction and had to continue north out to meet additional team coming in from the north. Along the stretch we evacuated the last few people, along with pushing a road block as we went to prevent people from driving into the fire, there were 100 homes lost, in a 27km stretch.
This was my view getting out of one neighborhood as the fire spotted around us. As we went, we could look back where we had been and see the flames coming down from the ridge into the area. Started at 5pm, finished up at 3am. Next morning at 8am we were back out evacuating more places as the fires that started on the opposite side of the lake took off, then headed back to the westside to warn a few more streets on the south east corner of the fire.

The photo of the smoke from the roadway view, is what we were headed into.
