    People in Alaska depend on them for food. My Brother doesn’t hunt them he gets his from friends or when the Highway Patrol calls him and tells him that a Moose has been hit and killed by a vehicle. That way the Animal is not waisted and he gives thanks for every animal and shares with his elderly friends.

    Used to live in AK too. I had “pet” mooses that hung out on my property a lot. One got hit by a car one night right in front of my place. Didn’t know anything was going on until the police officer shot it. Scared the crap out of me as I lived out of town a ways - not hard to do up there- and our place was still a work in progress so I thought someone was just shooting for the hell of it not knowing anyone lived there.
