so out here you can be fined for shoveling snow from your driveway into the street. fine. it goes in the yard. its a paint in the ass to clear a 40x40 driveway into a 15' stretch of yard but OK.
but the city plows come down a residential street at 40mph and throw all of the snow from the street back into my driveway? no.

    That’s what they do here.
    It called winter.
I’m not getting the point here.
Tell it not to snow for the next two weeks ?

the point is that the 2' berm of snow they pile at the end of the driveway is a bigger mess than the 2" of snow in the street. they don't need to plow the residential streets here unless it snows a shitload overnight but that hardly ever happens.

I get what @MTgirl is saying. I see it both ways here. Some drivers just plow straight across all the driveways, others use the cutout blade and carry the snow past the driveways leaving them clear. Guess it depends on the care and skill of the guy running the plow. :notsure:
    So do we.

    Cut out blade?
Never seen one of those up this way.
    Would be very inefficient anyway.

You got out and yell at the plow driver, he would come back and give you a second load..lol
    Real world problems lol

Been lucky enough to have good side boom guys last couple of years. Before that, trees took a beatin'.

Might be using the wrong term, but it's small gate like blade that rolls the accumulated snow back in front of the main blade; as they plow along they drop it at the beginning of the driveway edge and raise it on the other side. Watching it in action it looks efficient when the operator knows what they're doing.
For the record, I never yell at the plow drivers, whether they use it or not. If they don't, just go back out and clear the berm.

That or break out the grapplin' hooks to scale the berm to see where the plow followin' loader is. :bananadead:

not an option for me when they come by while I'm at work and by the time I get home the snow/slush has frozen solid. last year my neighbor had to borrow a bobcat from work and dig us all out.

they don't pivot the balde to keep the driveways clear, just blasting down the street at 40mph minimum and throw the snow into everyone's property

hey! he's my brother too! does that mean you and I are related? :notsure:
